Planning and Zoning involves both short term and long term activities.  Short term planning tasks include overseeing the development of existing lands and administering the zoning and subdivision regulations.  Long term planning includes re-development activities, coordinating the annexation of new land, and regularly updating the Comprehensive Plan.
